Claddagh Cats - an in-conjunction CFA and TICA Cat Show
March 30-31, 2019  - Holshauser Building - NC State Fairgrounds

Saturday, March 30, 2019 - hosted by Midlantic Persian and Himalayan Fanciers (CFA)
Sunday, March 31, 2019  - hosted by Vision Cat Club (TICA)

Midlantic Persian and Himalayan Fanciers and Vision Cat Club extend a warm welcome to exhibitors showing Selkirk Rex (both longhair and shorthair) kittens, cats in championship and alters/cats in premiership!  Your fellow breeders have lots of wonderful things planned for you at our shows!

Saturday, March 30, 2019 - CFA Show

There will be a Selkirk Rex Breed summit judged by three of our judges (Sharon Roy, Brian Pearson, and Hope Gonano).

What is a breed summit?  It’s a way for a breed or breed group to be evaluated as a unit in addition to regular ring judging.  While no title, regional, or national points will be awarded as part of the summit, cats will be selected in each ring as the very best Selkirks for those rings.

All classes will be judged together in the summit.  Yes, that’s right, all Selkirk kittens (longhair and shorthair), championship cats (longhair and shorthair), and premiership cats (longhair and shorthair) will be evaluated without regard to title or class.  Depending on the number of Selkirks entered, 3-5 cats will be awarded in each summit ring.

In addition, at the end of the day, the highest scoring Selkirks will be recognized:
•    Best Selkirk Rex Longhair Kitten
•    Best Selkirk Rex Shorthair Kitten
•    Best Selkirk Rex Longhair in Championship
•    Best Selkirk Rex Shorthair in Championship
•    Best Selkirk Rex Longhair in Premiership
•    Best Selkirk Rex Shorthair in Premiership

Saturday, March 30, 2019 - Evening

Selkirk Rex breeders, exhibitors and enthusiasts are welcome to join us for dinner at Trali Irish Pub and Restaurant in Brier Creek (10370 Moncreiffe Rd., Suite 109, Raleigh, NC 27617)- just a few miles from the show hotel.  This intimate, snug, wood-paneled restaurant offers a wide variety of good food (and, of course, adult beverages!)  You can find out more about the restaurant here: https://www.traliirishpub.com/brier-creek

We will be making dinner reservations for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30.  If you would like to join us please contact Gale Perry (wavemakerscats@yahoo.com) so she can give the restaurant a count.

Sunday, March 31, 2019 - TICA Show

There will be special awards for Selkirk Rex kittens, cats, and alters based on regular judging.

First, in each judging ring there will be laminated flats for the best, second best, and third best of breed Selkirk Rex and Selkirk Rex Longhair kitten, cat, and alter in the ring
.
At the end of the show the following will be awarded:

Highest scoring Selkirk kitten, cat, and alter will receive the following beautiful carrier.  This is a combined award based on finals (excluding cats defeated) of both Selkirk Rex and Selkirk Rex Longhair competitors.  For example, the Selkirk (longhair or shorthair) competing in championship obtaining the highest points (exluding cats defeated) will be declaired the highest scoring Selkirk cat in show.

Best of breed Selkirk Rex kitten, cat, and alter (longhair/shorthair) will receive this fun collapsing cat bed (apologies for the non-curly feline model).  These 6 awards will be based on breed placements during judging - not finals.

Second best of breed Selkirk Rex kitten, cat, and alter (longhair/shorthair) will receive this waterproof, zipping litterbox.  These 6 awards will be based on breed placements during judging - not finals.

And the third best of breed Selkirk Rex kitten, cat, and alter (longhair/shorthair) will receive this fun toy.  These 6 awards will be based on breed placements during judging - not finals.
