SHOW HALL: Villas by the Sea Conference Center, 1175 N. Beachview Drive, Jekyll Island, GA 31527, (912) 635-2521. This is a climate-controlled facility and is completely ADA compliant. Outside food is allowed. Food will be available for purchase. There is a $8 parking/entry fee which must be paid when entering the island. Southern SophisTICAts will refund this fee ONCE, with your receipt. This is an “all-in-one” show hall/show hotel!!

SHOW HOTEL: Villas by the Sea Resort & Conference Center, 1175 North Beachview Dr., Jekyll Island, GA 31527 (800-841-6262 x 1). These are all condo type accommodations; most include full kitchens. Many are two stories, with sleeping areas upstairs; if you have a problem with stairs, please verify that your unit is all on one level when making your reservation. As handicap accessible units are limited, please be considerate and reserve these only if you require a wheelchair. Mini Villa/Studio (Islandside)-$105, Studio (ground floor)-$105, One Bedroom Villa-$125, (Islandside), $139 (Oceanside), Two Bedroom Villa-(Islandside)-$175, (Oceanside)-$195, Three Bedroom Villa-(Islandside)-$225, (Oceanside)-$235,7% Sales Tax, 5% Hotel Occupancy Tax, and 5% Resort Fee are additional to room rate. A Deposit of first night room rate+tax is due upon booking. Reservations cancelled less than 3 days prior to arrival will forfeit deposit. There is a non-refundable PET FEE of $45 per room per 2 cats. Please mention Southern SophisTICAts when making reservations. There is a wonderful restaurant on the premises for dinner, and snacks are available for purchase in the Lobby at other times. Hotel check-in is at 4 pm, and check-out is no later than 11 am. Reservations must be received by November 10, 2022. Rooms not picked up or without a deposit will be released and sold on a SPACE AVAILABLE basis. Rooms cancelled with less than 3 days notice will forfeit deposit. Please make every effort to leave your room in the condition it was found, in not better. Be sure to confine spraying males (and females!) and clean up after yourself and your cats. TICA Hotel Guidelines will be enforced.

TRANSPORTATION: Most major carriers fly into Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), which is an approximately 1 hour drive from the show hall/hotel. Limited air service (DELTA only) is available at Glynco Jetport (BQK) in Brunswick, which is approximately 25 minutes away. Another alternate airport is Savannah International (SAV) which is approximately 1 hour, 10 minutes away. Taxis and rental cars are available at all airports. The causeway to Jekyll Island is easily accessed from I-95 and US 17.

SHOW HOURS: Check-in will be from 7:30-8:30 a.m on Saturday. Judging for the AM session will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.. on Saturday, Judging will begin promptly at 1:30 for the PM session. Check-in on Sunday will be from 8-9 a.m. with judging beginning promptly at 9 a.m. Advertised show hours on Saturday will be from 9 am-5 pm and on Sunday from 9 am – 1:30 pm. Please plan to remain in the show hall during advertised show hours. We need our gate!!!

SHOW RULES: TICA show rules will be strictly enforced. By entering, exhibitors agree to abide by the decisions of the judges and show committee. Official show rules, registration information & forms may be obtained from TICA, P.O. Box 2684, Harlingen, TX 78551 or on the web at www.tica.org.

PAYMENT: By entering the show, you agree to pay all fees whether you attend the show or not. Fees must be received no later than the closing date of December 5, 2022. The club reserves the right to require payment in cash or money order. Unfortunately, due to the irresponsible behavior of some exhibitors, we must require that all payments be received by the time the catalog is printed. NO PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE DOOR unless previously arranged with the entry clerk, except for waitlist sales cages and groom spaces. . Entries belonging to exhibitors on TICA’s Temporary or Permanent Suspension lists will not be accepted. Southern SophisTICAts will pursue any debt owed us to the extent of TICA show rules and Georgia law.

REGISTRATION To be scored for TICA titles and regional/international awards, all cats must be registered with the exception of ANB/PNB/NT. Household Pet adults must be spayed or neutered to be eligible to compete. Declawed cats may compete in all classes.

HEALTH: This is a non-vetted show. Any cat showing signs of illness, parasites (including fleas) or fungus will be escorted from the show hall, along with any cats owned, housed, or agented by the same exhibitor. All entries should be vaccinated against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calici and distemper (panleukopenia) at least two weeks prior to the show, and should test negative for feline leukemia and FIV (“felines AIDS”). All entries should also have a current rabies vaccination. TICA show rules require all claws, front and back, be clipped prior to benching. Georgia law requires any animal over the age of 4 months to be vaccinated against rabies within the last 12 months (be prepared to show proof).

FOR SALE: Due to the small size of the venue, sales cages will not be offered to exhibitors until after the show has closed. TICA rules allow no more than two kittens or one cat benched in a single cage. No kitten under 3 months of age will be allowed in the show hall (be prepared to show proof of age), and no kittens or cats may be confined to carriers or kept under benching cages during show hours. If you are bringing cats or kittens to sell, Southern SophisTICAts strongly advises you to familiarize yourself with the applicable statutes and takes no responsibility for your failure to do so. SUPPLIES: Cat litter will be available, but please bring your own litter pan, as well as food & water dishes. Each entry will be assigned a single cage, approx. 22”X22”X22”. All pricing for entries include extra single cage space for odd-numbered entries. Due to the small size of the facility, groom spaces and sales cages will be not be offered until the show has closed, and will be available only as space allows. For the protection and safety of your cat and those around you, please bring suitable covering for sides, top, and bottom of the cage.

CLERKS: Are indispensable! Ring clerks will be reimbursed $40 per session clerked, plus lunch, soft drinks, and a marked catalog, not to mention our undying gratitude! Requests for specific judges will be honored to the extent possible on a first come, first served basis and are subject to change. Currently licensed TICA clerks will be given preference. Trainees and assistants are always welcome. Clerks and trainees will be given preferential benching if we know in advance that you will be clerking!
