The rates are $84 (standard double or king), or $129 (suites). As always, the Drury Inn will have its complimentary hot breakfast AND evening cocktail receptions with snacks - included in your rate. BLOCK EXPIRES THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2010. We have confirmed there is another group in house for Friday night for sure. DO NOT DELAY IN BOOKING YOUR ROOM. If you choose to book via some other club card or discount, that is okay, JUST DON'T DELAY IN DOING SO.

Regardless of where you choose to stay, please keep your rooms neat. We have a multi- year contract with the facility and do not want to be forced out of the hotels in the area due to anyone’s bad behavior.

Airport Transportation: Fly into Birmingham International Airport (BHM). Unfortunately, none of the hotels accepting pets also offered an airport shuttle. We will attempt to provide transportation to as many exhibitors as possible, but our club is small. Airport pickups are typically manageable. You may need to arrange transportation with other exhibitors to/from the show hall. We will do our best to accomodate folks. Contact Honey Gilmore at the e-mail above with your itinerary.

Show Hours: Check-in will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, 8:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. Judging will begin promptly at 9:30 am on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. on Sunday. Advertised show hours for the public are 10:00a.m.-4:00p.m. each day. Permission from show management must be obtained to leave earlier.

Registration: With the exception of Preliminary & Advanced New Breeds, it is not necessary for cats, kittens, alters or household pets to be registered with TICA to compete. Registration is necessary for your entry to be score for titles, regional and international awards. Championship cats, kittens, alters, household pet kittens and household pet adults will only be scored once without registration. Show Rules: TICA show rules and related rules will be strictly enforced. By entering, exhibitors agree to abide by these rules. Show rules may be obtained from the TICA Executive Office. Contact information listed in previous paragraph or you may print a copy from the TICA website at www.tica.org.

Awards:
a )
Rosettes will be awarded in the rings for finals accordance with TICA Show Rules.
b) SPECIAL AWARD
– In honor of our esteemed late club president Rebekah Cumbie, we will be presenting the Acrith Award to the best red or red/white cat, kitten, alter, HHP or HHP Kitten in show. Any entry in these classes with red in the color description is eligible for the award. The Catalystic Award will be presented to the highest scoring Maine Coon cat, kitten or alter, in honor of the late Veronia Hill, member of Alabama Paws & Claws, TICA and the MCBFA.
b) Cage Decorating Awards: St. Patrick's Day is the theme and the members of AL Paws & Claws invite you to join them in celebrating. Please feel free to decorate your cages accordingly. Prizes will be given for the top 3 best decorated cages. The more your cage draws on Irish traditions, folklore, history, etc. – the better your chances

Health: This is a non-vetted show. Any cat showing signs of illness, parasites or fungus will be escorted from the show hall, along with any other cats owned, housed, or agented by the same exhibitor. All entries should be vaccinated against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calici and distemper (panleukopenia), and should test negative for feline leukemia and FIV (feline AIDS). TICA show rules require all claws, front and back, be clipped prior to judging.

Kittens: All kittens (pedigreed or HHP) entered for competition must be at least 4 months old, but less than 8 months old, on the day of the show. Kittens in the show hall for sale and/or exhibition must be at least 3 months old.

Household Pets: Household Pet Adults (8 months old and up) must be spayed/neutered. If you are not sure of your cat's color, , please send a color picture of your cat with your entry. Photos will be returned at check-in. You will also have an opportunity Saturday morning to have the senior judge make a final determination if the color/pattern are still in question.

Benching & Supplies: Each entry will be provided a single benching cage measuring 24"L x 22"W x 22"H and are provided with each entry. Full cage size is 48"L x 22"W x 22"H. You may pay extra with a single entry to have the full (double) cage for your cat. All cages must be covered on the sides and top. You may want to bring a rug, blanket, etc. for the bottom of the cage and other items to make your cat feel more comfortable. No more than one adult cat or 2 kittens are allowed per single cage. You will need to bring litter pan(s), food bowls, and food. Litter will be provided.

Clerks & Stewards: ARE NECESSARY FOR THE SHOW TO HAPPEN! If you would like to clerk, please indicate so on your summary sheet, along with any judge preferences. Licensed clerks will be given priority and judge requests will be honored to the best of our ability. Clerks will be compensated $60 for two days or $30 for one day, plus lunch and a marked catalog. Stewards may also be needed. Please let us know if you will have someone available.

For the comfort of our exhibitors and spectators: The show hall area will be designated as non-smoking. Children are always welcome at our shows, but for the enjoyment of all, we request that youngsters be supervised at all times. Show management reserves the right to ask parents to control or remove disruptive children as well as any other disruptive exhibitors, spectators, etc.

 Liability: Neither Alabama Paws & Claws, TICA, SportsBlast or any hotels can be held liable for loss, theft, accident/injury to animals, personal property, exhibitors, or their guests.
